Water becomes more valuable than ever. It should be managed and monitored. We started with modelling in Urban water management ( UWM) and Integrated water resource management ( IWRM).
Long-Term averaged precipitations

We are prepared to visualize precipitation data distribution in few different scales. After a set of gridded world data of Koeppen now we only need the temperature data for the period of 1950-2000.
Our plan is to automate creation of maps for different indexes related to recent (monthly and 10 days periods) and longterm averaged data. This will help to estimate value of climate changes.

Forecasted water in Vardar/Axios River Basin

Meteorological numerical model can generate data valid for some period in the future. Two times in a day and freely accessible are data obtained with global model for numerical weather prediction.
As a first approximation we use this results to test own calculations and automation procedures for products related to basic and more complex environmental parameters. Here You can see 10 days history of only two values, maximum of 24 hours sum of precipitation and water volume for the same period of 24 hours (updating is everyday).
Note: These values are calculated everyday. Values are obtained with our own, automated raster analyzes, in a border of irregular shape of the Vardar/Axios River Basin.

Meteorological satellites are today’s powerful tools. Obtained pictures are more and more detailed. Some of them are even freely accessible (with some limitations!). We keep estimated values of data distribution of the water, estimated as precipitations from few sources.
This will be a good start to build regional data base of calculated parameters in a frame of our basics labs. Here You can see 10 days history of only two values, maximum of 24 hours sum of precipitation and water volume for the same period of 24 hours (updating is everyday).
Note: These values are calculated everyday. Values are obtained with our own, automated raster analyzes, in a border of irregular shape of the country (MK).

Forecast water over the region

One of the most important parameters in the case of monitoring regional water potentials is the field of forecasted precipitations. We recalculate and keep a 3- hour forecasted precipitation data (and 24 hours forecasted data from a global model, as a second estimation). We are able to create many sub-products, related with lots of aspects of human living, and all can be organized on everyday basis.
Here, you can see a short animated 36 hours of rain movement.
This is 2D animation of precipitation for forecasted period of 36 hours (valid for 20090108 00UTC and next 36 hours).

Ground-water simulation

MODFLOW is a three-dimensional finite-difference ground-water model that was first published in 1984. It has a modular structure and come from OSS software - as a lot of similar models from the scientific world. In the last period is well adapted and improved. Today MODFLOW is a modern tool for simulation of ground-water processes in space and a time scale. After successful test case runs we expect to adopt another modelling field, space of transport and flow of the ground-water. We can simulate steady and nonsteady flow in an irregularly shaped flow system in which aquifer layers can be confined, unconfined, or a combination of both, and in lot of other cases of ground water flow. In this moment we just think to provide a well organised environment for next simulations.
