GIS and map solutions are essential. Measured parameter or data distribution is nothing without to exact location. To analyze data, or combine parameters, or just present the results, we just use map solutions. Today there are many. We prefer it open source software solutions ( OSS).
Koeppen climates on pictures

We tried to create climatic maps according most popular classification. We reuse Koeppen classified climatic data witch are freely available on internet and as a start we have a first results. On the maps are the main Koeppen climate classes (equatorial, arid, warm temperate, snow, polar) and subclasses. In the few next months we will make some efforts to combine this data and other climatic element (for the same period) and go closer to some aspect of region estimations for human living.

Google and 3D world for all

We use Google map service in few our projects. We decide this time to contribute to Google efforts to provide 3D enabled world for all. If the map in this moment not work, you can see the building in Google Earth on Your PC. You can see also all our buildings using http://sketchup.google.com link.
In the next period we will add few other buildings from other locations, around the world.

Our main work is dedicated to Balcan region. Here is the emLabs basic cover.
To show the results we accomplished few interactive procedures and we reuse public accessible data. Achievements of this map, (to see all this, in 3D, click on "Earth" button): - borders height depend of population of the country; - rollover change of the colours; - place marks position is on the country geometrical centre.

We started our first online GIS project. The basic idea is to use free Google map service and to upload a map, every day, in a period of one month (July 2009). Visual Basic application for automated upload of material (JPG picture) is ready. The knowledge necessary tie all this into one process is completed.
To improve all our spatial oriented activity we include one OSS database of the location of the world's administrative areas (boundaries). All areas in this database are countries, but also and lower level subdivisions such as provinces, departments, etc. GIS shape format give us the power of create sub- ROI from large world scale basic file.
